Captain John McMurray is the owner and primary operator of One More Cast Charters, based out of Long Island, New York. For more than two decades, John has been running trips on skiffs and Contenders nearly every day the weather allows, from mid-April through December — balancing the demands of a full-time charter operation with an unwavering commitment to the fishery.

Like most small business owners, John wears every hat: captain, mechanic, booking agent, maintenance crew, and everything in between. Despite a relentless schedule, he famously blocks out every other Sunday to take his son and his friends fishing — a tradition known onboard as “Bro-day.”
